What story of personal greatness, achievement or success would your co-workers or friends be surprised to learn about you?
Sponsored by Nature Made.
Mohamed Ali has nothing on me. He would often call himself "The Greatest." I must admit, as much as I admired him and respected his skills as a Champion Boxer, I soon got tired of hearing him brag on himself.
I wish I could lay claim to being the greatest or just "GREAT" but I'm not anywhere near it. That doesn't mean I have no self-respect or self-esteem. I'm big on me. I know where I came from and what I have achieved in life and I don't look upon any of my accomplishments lightly. I know the struggle involved in attaining success in any of my life long goals. I accomplished some of them and failed miserably at others but I exceeded my own expectations most of the time.
I've often laid claim to being a self made man. It wasn't formal education that got me to where I am today. I scratched and clawed my way up life's lengthy ladder. More than once I began where most working men begin, an entry level position and worked my way up through the ranks of two businesses and became a supervisor; a leader of men in the manufacturering world.
I have never been great no matter what that little trophy my daughter gave me for Father's Day stated. Instead, I was on my way to greatness at some point up the road. I ran out of fuel before I got to my destination. But, you know what? I think I've had a great life so far.
What did you do as a child that you feel guilty about even to this day?
The reality of the answer to this question is like this: I still feel so guilty about some of the things I did when I was a child, to this very day I cannot bring myself to confess it to another soul.
There's no sense in begging...there's no way I'm telling you about it either.
What's your cure for the common cold?
Just in case you haven't heard yet...There is NO CURE for the common cold.
If you leave a cold untreated, it will usually last from 7 to 10 days.
If you treat a cold with everything in your arsenal, it will last at least one week.
Modern day colds appear to be gaining strength. They last longer and make us feel much worse than the colds of many years ago. The viruses that cause colds are constantly mutating, adjusting to our efforts to rid our bodies of them but we are simply wasting our time and money. There are too many varieties of cold viruses for us to come up with a vaccine against all of them.
When I get a cold, I know I'm going to have it a while regardless of what I do to defeat it.
I can only hope to relieve the worse of its symptoms.
The best way to deal with colds and flu is prevention.
If you stay away from people who have colds, it's a good bet that you won't catch one.
In winter time, I try to say away from crowds or even small groups of people as much as possible.
I don't go to church or shake hands or hug if I can help it. It's impossible to stay away from everyone unless you are a Hermit living in a remote cave and off the land around you. Don't go shopping. Forget about Thanksgiving Day and Christmas and certainly no New Year's Eve parties. That usually calls for one to do some kissing at midnight and it's a sure thing that the one I get to kiss will have a cold or the flu. That's Murphy's Law. That's my life and the way it usually goes.
Should driving while talking on a cell phone be outlawed?
Submitted by Soup.
This is a topic that has been in the back of my mind for years. I seldom get back into that area where I can address the issue, so thank you Soup for the nudge to action.
This answer isn't simply my personal opinion. Studies have been done by a variety of entities and their findings are being publish abroad by a variety of means, newspapers, tv broadcasts, etc.
However, I HAVE personally witnessed the affect cell phone use while driving has on certain vehicle operators.
It was not pretty. Children...cover your eyes. Such things should not be observed by the innocent.
Driving is NOT an activity one should include in an attempt at multi-tasking.
It requires one's undivided attention or there is a high risk of injury or death, not necessarily to the guilty party.
Some people can't walk and chew gum at the same time.
Others must pull off the road just to blow their horn.
Certainly it should be outlawed.
My big concern related to it is this:
How can a new law against it be enforced? Who will enforce it and when?
It's similar to the problem with enforcing seat belt laws.
OH! NEVER MIND...

What game show or reality show would you kick butt on?
I've been gathering useless information and various Trivia fuel for many years now.
I believe I could kick butt on Jeopardy or Who wants to be a millionaire or any other TV game show that requires knowledge of trivia.
As with most people, I will play along with certain programs while watching TV. I always do well then. What I worry about is ... What would happen should I ever really get on such a program?
I'd probably make a giant fool of myself. Did I say MAKE? I think I may already be there.
